Booking Confirmation Notifications
The moment someone books an appointment, they should hear back from you immediately — not wonder if the booking actually went through. Vendi Today sends automatic confirmation notifications the instant a booking is created, and gives you control over exactly what those messages say and how they're delivered.
The two confirmation moments
There are actually two distinct confirmation notifications you can configure:
- Booked (Unconfirmed) — sent the second a booking is created, before anyone has confirmed attendance.
- Booked (Confirmed) — sent once the appointment's status is changed to Confirmed, either automatically or by a staff member.
Depending on how your business operates, you might only need the first, or you might use both — for example, an automatic "we got your request" message followed by a "you're all set" message once staff reviews and confirms the slot.
Turning confirmations on
From your calendar's settings, open the Notifications section and enable the confirmation notification type you want to use. Each one can be turned on independently for email, SMS, and other supported channels.
Choosing what it says
Every confirmation notification uses a template you control — swap out the default wording, add your own branding, and pull in details like the appointment time, location, and provider name using merge fields so the message feels specific to that booking rather than generic.
Good to know: If you run both an unconfirmed and a confirmed notification, keep the wording clearly different between the two — customers who get two nearly identical texts in a row sometimes think it's a duplicate or a mistake.
