Why Your Email Stats Look Off
Missing, wrong, or inflated numbers usually trace to a handful of common causes.
Bot detection is filtering your stats (on purpose)
Security scanners and inbox pre-fetching bots can fake "opens" and "clicks," inflating stats and even firing automations on fake activity. Bot Detection filters this out.
Off by default. Enable under Settings > Business Profile > General, toggle Bot Detection Prevention. Works with built-in sending or a supporting provider. Applies to future sends only, not retroactive.
If numbers dropped right after enabling this, that's expected — you're now seeing real engagement.
Stats are missing or incomplete
Check the send channel — only supported channels (bulk action, workflows, campaigns, smart lists) generate full stats. Check your provider — external SMTP may only report opens/clicks, not delivered/bounced. Check tracking configuration — a missing CNAME or misconfigured setup blocks tracking entirely.
Quick checklist
Confirm the channel supports full stats. Confirm tracking configuration. Check the provider's own dashboard if external. Decide whether Bot Detection should be on and expect a stats shift once enabled.
