Understanding Pipelines and Stages
A pipeline is a visual map of your sales or service process.
Why pipelines matter
Visibility, consistency, automation hooks (triggers on stage entry/exit), and reporting on where deals stall.
How stages work
Stages are steps arranged in the order deals move through. Won and Lost are built in automatically. If you delete a stage with deals in it, they shift to another stage you designate.
Getting the most out of a pipeline
Keep the stage count reasonably short, let automation handle busywork, revisit pipeline data periodically to spot where deals consistently die.
You can run more than one pipeline at a time — a "New Business" pipeline and a separate "Renewals" pipeline, each tailored to its own workflow.
