Show a Pop-up When a Page Loads
A timed pop-up appears shortly after a visitor lands on the page, without needing a click or scroll. It suits offers, announcements and lead capture.
Set it up
- Go to Sites and open a funnel or website, then the step or page you want.
- Click Edit to open the builder.
- Click the Popup Settings icon in the top bar.
- Design the pop-up content, for example a form and a headline.
- In the settings panel, scroll to Show Popup on and choose Delay.
- Drag the slider to the number of seconds after the page loads.
- Save or Publish.
Behavior to know
- The pop-up shows each time the page loads. It does not remember that a visitor already saw it.
- If the pop-up is opened manually, for example by a button, before the timer ends, the automatic one is cancelled so it never appears twice.
- It works the same in funnels and websites.
- For a pop-up that appears as the visitor tries to leave, choose Exit instead. See the exit pop-up article.
Tips
Wait a few seconds so visitors can read the page first. A pop-up that fires immediately feels intrusive and raises bounce rates. Make the close button obvious.
Good to know: Test with a fresh browser window so you see exactly what a first-time visitor sees.
