Regulatory Bundles & Address Verification
Many countries outside the US and Canada require a regulatory bundle before you can activate a local phone number there. A regulatory bundle is a set of verified documents proving who you are and where you (or your business) are located — it's how the platform stays compliant with each country's telecom rules.
When you need one
Purchasing a local number in a regulated country will show as requiring a bundle before checkout completes. Requirements vary by country and by number type (local vs. mobile vs. toll-free), so check what's needed for your specific country before starting a purchase.
What you'll typically need
- Business or individual name
- Full street address, city, state/province, postal code, and country
- Supporting documents — proof of address, business registration, or ID, depending on the country and whether you're registering as a business or individual
How to create and link a bundle
- Go to Settings > Phone System > Regulatory Bundles.
- Click + Create and choose Regulatory Bundle.
- Select the country and number type.
- Enter your business/address information exactly as it appears on your supporting documents, and upload those documents.
- Submit for review — approval typically takes 1–3 business days for most countries.
- When buying a number that's marked as requiring a bundle, select your approved bundle from the dropdown before completing the purchase.
One approved bundle covers all numbers of that type/country combination on your account — you don't need a new one per number.
Australia: local numbers
Australia has its own KYC requirements for local numbers, with only business bundles supported (not individual). You'll need:
- Registered business name and Australian street address
- A business registration document (ASIC extract or ABN registration)
- Proof of physical address (a recent utility bill or lease)
- A public-facing website or verified social media presence
- The authorized representative's government-issued photo ID
- Proof they're authorized to act for the business (e.g., a director listing or board resolution)
Submit this the same way as any other bundle, selecting Country: Australia and Number type: Local. Existing Australian local numbers that aren't linked to an approved bundle risk losing calling and texting ability, so don't leave this until the last minute if you're on an Australian number.
