Which Payment Providers Work Where

Vendi Today supports several payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, Square, NMI, Authorize.net, Razorpay, Adyen, and Mercado Pago — but not every feature works with every provider. Use this article as a quick reference before you build a checkout flow, and see the individual connection guides for setup steps on each provider.

Set a default provider

Your default payment provider applies everywhere unless you override it for a specific channel. Connect it under Payments > Integrations.

Assign a different provider per channel

If you want a specific processor for a specific part of your business — for example, Stripe for your online store but NMI for invoices — you can override the default:

  1. Go to Payments > Integrations > Configure Providers.
  2. Switch between Live and Test mode.
  3. For each channel (Funnels, Forms, Stores, Invoices, Payment Links, Courses, Communities, Surveys), use the + button to assign a specific provider, or X to remove one and fall back to your default.

You can pair PayPal with one other provider on the same channel, but you can't combine two non-PayPal providers together. If you remove every provider from a channel, it automatically reverts to your account default so checkout never breaks.

Selling on order forms

When you sell products through a 1-step or 2-step order form, you choose which connected provider processes that form's payments, and can add bump offers and upsells alongside the main product. A few things to keep in mind:

  • You can't sell two different recurring products in a single checkout — use an upsell instead.
  • PayPal doesn't support bump products alongside a recurring purchase.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay only work through Stripe.

Quick compatibility notes

  • Apple Pay / Google Pay — Stripe only.
  • Buy Now, Pay Later (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) — Stripe only, one-time purchases only.
  • ACH / bank transfers — available through Stripe and NMI.
  • In-person tap-to-pay — available through Stripe (native) and Square.

If a payment method you expect isn't showing up on a checkout page, check that the provider handling that channel actually supports it before assuming something is broken.
