Set Font Weight
Font weight controls how thin or heavy text looks. You can set it for individual components and choose different weights on mobile and desktop.
Where it is available
Font weight appears in text elements, buttons, category navigation, FAQs, countdown elements, navigation menus, store elements and image feature elements.
Change the weight
- Open the page in the builder and select a supported element.
- Find the new font weight dropdown beneath the font size setting.
- Choose a weight, for example Light, Regular, Semi-bold or Bold.
- Switch to the mobile view if you want a different weight for phones, and adjust it there.
- Save or publish.
The font size slider is also easier to control, with a finer range.
Things to keep in mind
- Not every font family includes every weight. If a weight has no visible effect, the family probably does not support it. Try another font or weight.
- If you made text bold using the text editor, that formatting overrides this setting.
- Desktop and mobile settings are separate, so check both views.
Design tips
- Use heavier weights for headings and buttons, lighter for body text.
- Limit yourself to two or three weights on a page.
Good to know: If a weight will not change, remove the editor's bold formatting from that text first.
