Use Apify Triggers and Actions in Workflows

Apify runs web scrapers and automation jobs. Connect it to start jobs from a workflow, then pick up the results when they finish.

Triggers

• Finished Actor Run
• Finished Task Run

These start a workflow once the job is done, which is ideal when you want to wait for data before continuing.

Actions

• Run An Actor starts a scraper with input from the workflow.
• Run A Task executes a task you saved in Apify.
• Scrape Single URL extracts data from one page.
• Fetch Dataset Items pulls the results of a run.
• Find Last Actor Run and Find Last Task Run return details of the latest run.

Connect

1. Open Automation > Workflows and add an Apify step, or go to Settings > Integrations.
2. Click Connect and paste your Apify API key from your Apify account settings.

Two common patterns

Start from Vendi Today:

1. Use any trigger, such as a new form submission containing a website address.
2. Add Run An Actor or Scrape Single URL.
3. Add Fetch Dataset Items and use the results to update the Contact.

Start from Apify:

1. Use Finished Task Run as the trigger.
2. Fetch the dataset items.
3. Create Contacts or notify your team about the new data.

Test with a simple job first to confirm your field mapping and timing.

Good to know: Scraping jobs take time, so use a finished-run trigger rather than a fixed wait when you need results.
