Edit or Clone an Existing Countdown Timer
You can change a timer after it is live, and most edits flow straight through to every funnel, website, and other supported placement that uses it. Knowing what moves immediately and what waits keeps your campaigns predictable.
What You Can Change
Timer name, styling and labels, Active and Expired Links, time zone and adaptation, plus the type-specific fields: end date for fixed timers; duration, loop events and wait time for recurring timers; trigger, duration and end-time behavior for dynamic timers.
How Each Type Reacts
- Fixed: a new end date changes the deadline for every placement.
- Recurring: some changes, such as wait time, apply from the next cycle.
- Dynamic: countdowns already started for a contact are not restarted.
Edit a Timer
- Go to Marketing, then Countdown Timers.
- Click the pencil icon or the timer name.
- Update the fields you need.
- Click Save.
- Check each live page or email that uses the timer.
Edit or Clone?
Edit when you are correcting a live campaign. Clone when you are starting a new campaign with similar settings, especially with dynamic timers, because a contact who already triggered the original will not get a new window from it. Cloning also protects the old campaign's destinations.
Be Careful With
- Link changes that redirect contacts from live buttons.
- Emails already sent, which can behave differently from live pages.
- Timers embedded off-platform, which you should retest.
Good to know: If Edit seems unavailable, confirm you are in the right Marketing area and have permission to manage timers.
