Bulk Import Companies

If you have a large list of business accounts to bring into Vendi Today, you can import them all at once from a CSV file rather than creating company records one by one.

Before you start

Turn on Company and Custom Object Import under your Labs settings if it isn't already enabled.

File requirements

• Format: CSV, saved with UTF-8 encoding
• Include a header row with clear column names
• Keep only the columns you actually need — it makes the mapping step faster and less error-prone

The import steps

1. Upload your file and choose whether the import should create new companies, update existing ones, or both.
2. Map fields — match each CSV column to the corresponding company field. The system shows a preview of sample data so you can confirm the mapping looks right before proceeding.
3. Review and confirm your settings.
4. Click Start Bulk Import.

Handling duplicates on update

If you're updating existing companies, select Company ID as the field used to detect duplicates. Turn on Don't update to empty value to make sure blank cells in your CSV don't accidentally wipe out data that's already there.

After the import

Check Bulk Actions → Companies to see success and error counts, and download a detailed report if you need to troubleshoot any records that didn't import cleanly.
