Publish a PDF as a LinkedIn Carousel
Document carousels, where viewers swipe through slides, are a popular format on LinkedIn. Social Planner can take a PDF and publish it that way, or turn the pages into separate images for other networks.
Limits
- Up to 300 pages and 100 MB per document on LinkedIn.
- When a PDF is imported it is converted into one image per page.
- If Instagram is also selected, those images are cropped automatically to fit Instagram's aspect ratios.
Create a carousel or document post
- Connect a LinkedIn profile or Page under Social Planner > Settings.
- Click + New Post and choose your LinkedIn account in Post to.
- Write your caption.
- Click the file upload icon, which sits between the image and video icons.
- Upload one or more PDFs, or import images that you want combined.
- Rename the PDF if you like and add a watermark if needed.
- Choose how to publish: as separate carousel images, or with the Post as PDF option so all images are merged into a single document.
- Schedule or publish the post.
Editing media
Hover over any media thumbnail and click the X to remove it before posting.
Design tips
- Use a square or portrait page size so slides look good on mobile.
- Keep one idea per slide with large text.
- End with a slide that tells readers what to do next.
Good to know: Preview each page after upload, as the conversion order decides the slide order readers will see.
