Auto-Fill Templates with Contact and Opportunity Data

Rather than editing a template by hand for every new deal, you can insert merge fields that automatically pull in a contact's or an opportunity's saved details — their name, project budget, service type, closing date, or any other field you track.

How it works

Inside the document editor, merge fields act as placeholders. When a document is generated — whether you send it manually or a workflow generates it — Vendi Today replaces each placeholder with the actual saved value from that contact or opportunity record.

Adding merge fields to a template

  1. Open a document template in the editor.
  2. Wherever you want dynamic information to appear, open the field/merge menu.
  3. Choose from Contact custom fields or Opportunity details, depending on what you need to pull in.
  4. Save the template.

Using it with workflows

This is especially powerful paired with a workflow: trigger a document to send whenever a Pipeline Stage Changed or Opportunity Status Changed event happens, and the document that goes out will already reflect that specific deal's current numbers and details — no manual editing required.

Why this matters

  • One template, many deals. You maintain a single document design instead of a new copy for every client.
  • Fewer mistakes. Values are pulled directly from your records instead of retyped by hand.
  • Consistency. Every document that goes out follows the same layout and formatting.
