Sync Existing Posts from Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google, and Threads

Post Sync copies posts you published outside Social Planner into its calendar and keeps their numbers current. This article covers every network except Facebook, which has its own guide.

Turn it on

  • Instagram: While connecting, switch on Sync Posts Automatically in the + Socials window, or later go to Social Planner > Settings > Social Accounts > Instagram and turn on Sync Posts. Business and Creator accounts are supported.
  • LinkedIn: In Settings > Social Accounts > LinkedIn, turn on Sync posts for a company Page. Personal profiles are not supported.
  • TikTok: In Settings > Social Accounts > TikTok, turn on Sync posts. Personal and Business accounts both work.
  • Google Business Profile and Threads: Enable the matching sync feature in Settings > Labs for each location, then connect the account.

When the first import finishes, open Planner to view the content and Statistics for the numbers.

What comes in

  • Instagram: Last 30 days of images, videos, carousels, and Reels. Tags, collaborators, and mentions may be missing.
  • LinkedIn: Posts with reactions, comments, and shares. Documents, events, polls, and articles import but show no preview.
  • TikTok: Videos with likes, comments, shares, and views, shown through TikTok's player. They cannot be downloaded or cloned.
  • Google Business Profile: Standard, event, offer, and call-to-action posts. If few recent posts exist, up to 365 days are imported.
  • Threads: Text, image, video, carousel, GIF, and poll posts. Polls can be viewed but not cloned.

Rules that apply to all

  • Sync is one-way: changes made on the network appear, but posts deleted there still stay in Social Planner.
  • Metrics refresh every 24 hours, not live.
  • If access expires, sync pauses until you reconnect.
  • Cloning is limited to simple posts on some networks.

Good to know: Use cloning on a synced post that performed well, then update the text and schedule it again.
