Set Up a Custom 404 Page
When someone opens a link that no longer exists, a branded 404 page can guide them back to useful content instead of showing a generic error.
When to use it
Use a custom 404 page for broken links, deleted pages, mistyped addresses and old paths with no replacement. If an old URL has moved to a known new place, use a 301 redirect instead.
Create the page
- In Sites > Websites, open a website and click Add New Page (or in Sites > Funnels, open a funnel and click Add New Step).
- Name it something like 404 Error Page and set a path.
- Build the page with your branding, a short apology, navigation and contact details.
- Save and publish it.
Assign it to your domain
- Go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects and click Manage beside your domain.
- On the Connected Products screen, open the three-dot menu for the connection and choose Edit.
- Open the Set default 404/Error Page dropdown and pick your page.
- Click Save.
Test it
Visit your domain followed by a path that does not exist, such as /no-such-page. Confirm your page appears and that its links work. If domains linked to a funnel, website, store, webinar or blog still need a default page, an Action Required reminder shows on the Connected Products screen.
Good to know: Include a search link, your phone number and a button to the homepage so lost visitors always have a next step.
