Build a Sub-Affiliate Hierarchy
Sub-affiliates are affiliates who sit beneath a parent affiliate. When a sub-affiliate makes a sale, the parent can earn a share according to your multi-tier setup.
Before You Begin
- The campaign needs at least two tiers configured, with a rate for each.
- If you plan to let affiliates recruit others, prepare a form that includes First Name, Last Name and Email.
Tier setup is explained in the multi-tier commissions article.
See Who Is Under Whom
On the Affiliates list, the Sub Affiliates column shows how many affiliates sit under each person. Click the number to see their names and email addresses.
Assign a Sub-Affiliate Manually
- Go to Marketing > Affiliate Manager and open the parent affiliate.
- Open the Sub-Affiliate tab and click Add Sub-Affiliate.
- Choose the multi-tier campaign.
- Select an existing affiliate, or create a new affiliate profile for the person.
- Save, then confirm the person now appears under the parent.
Methods Compared
| Method | Best for |
|---|---|
| Manual assignment | You already know who reports to whom |
| Auto-enroll customers | Buyers should join the network after purchasing |
| Self-recruitment | Affiliates grow their own teams with a sign-up link |
The last two are described in the next article.
Commission Notes
An affiliate with custom commission settings keeps those rates even when placed in a tier structure. Review commission history before restructuring an established hierarchy.
Good to know: Check each recruit's tier position after saving, since payouts follow the order of the chain.
