Format Prices for International Shoppers
Locale-based formatting adjusts how prices display based on where a visitor is browsing from, without changing what they pay.
What it does — and doesn't — do
Purely a display change — thousands separators, decimal style, currency symbol placement. It does not convert currency.
Turning it on
- Go to Sites > Stores, open store settings.
- Toggle on Locale-Based Currency Formatting.
- Set the correct Page Language under SEO & AI Search Optimization.
- Save and publish.
Where it applies
Consistently across product pages, cart, and checkout.
When location can't be determined
Falls back to standard U.S. formatting.
Should you turn this on?
Matters most if you have significant international traffic.
