Automate Evergreen Content with Category Queues

A Category Queue groups posts under a category, publishes them on a repeating weekly schedule, and starts again from the first post once it reaches the end. It is built for evergreen content you want to keep in rotation.

Create a queue

  1. Go to Marketing > Social Planner, click + New Post, and choose Category Queue.
  2. Under Select a Category, pick an existing category or type a new name to create one.
  3. Turn on Enable future posts queuing if posts you create later in this category should join the queue automatically.
  4. Turn on Prioritize new content to place new items at the front. If it is off, new items go to the end.
  5. Click Continue, then choose the days and time slots to publish.
  6. Click Queue Posts to open the queue editor.
  7. Review each post, edit text or media, add more with New Post, and drag items into the order you prefer. Add variations to rotate different versions of one post.
  8. Fix any warnings or errors, then click Queue Posts again to activate.

Before activating you can Save as Draft, Delete, or Reset.

Manage a queue

Open Content > Category Queue and click the More options icon on a queue to:

  • Edit queue: change posts, frequency, time slots, and order.
  • Queue preferences: adjust the two settings above (changes apply from the next cycle).
  • View queue calendar: see the spread in a weekly or monthly view.
  • Reschedule queue: move the whole queue to a new start date.
  • Delete: remove the queue.

Use the status toggle to pause or resume. You can also add a single post from the composer with Add to Queue.

Limits

Individual posts in a queue cannot be rescheduled, and the queue calendar is view-only. The status of each queue is listed under Settings > Categories.

Good to know: Seed a queue with your best past posts so the rotation starts with proven content.
