Create and Manage Contacts

Every lead, customer, and prospect you work with in Vendi Today lives in your Contacts list. Think of it as your single source of truth — instead of scattering names across spreadsheets, inboxes, and sticky notes, everything about a person sits in one record you can open in seconds.

Adding a contact by hand

  1. Open Contacts in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click + Add Contact.
  3. Fill in the basics — name, email, phone — and any custom fields your team has set up (things like lead source or budget range).
  4. Hit Save.

You won't need to do this often, though. Any time someone fills out a form, books a call, or messages you through a connected channel, Vendi Today creates their contact record automatically.

Opening and editing a record

Search or scroll to find the person in your contacts list, then click their name to open the full profile. From there you can correct a typo, add a missing phone number, or fill in details you learn over time. Changes save as you go.

What you can do from a contact's profile

Once a record is open, it becomes a hub for everything related to that person:

  • Tag them to group similar contacts together (e.g., "VIP" or "Newsletter")
  • Message them directly by email, text, or phone
  • Log a note so the next teammate who opens the record has context
  • Create a task or appointment tied to that person
  • Add them to an opportunity if they're a sales prospect
  • Enroll them in a workflow to start an automated sequence

Working with contacts in bulk

Need to tag, message, or update a whole group at once? Check the boxes next to multiple contacts and use the toolbar that appears above the list. This is much faster than editing records one at a time when you're running a campaign or cleaning up your list.

Handling duplicates

If the same person ends up with two records — say, one from a form and one you added manually — open either record and use the merge option to combine them into a single, complete profile.

Removing a contact

Select the contact, click Delete, and type DELETE to confirm. If you change your mind, deleted contacts can typically be recovered for a limited window afterward, so don't panic if you delete the wrong one.
