Clone a Campaign
Cloning makes an exact copy of an existing campaign, including its structure, targeting, budget and creative. It is the fastest way to test a variation or repeat something that already works.
Clone a campaign
- Go to Marketing > Ad Manager and find the campaign in the Campaigns list.
- Click the three dots at the end of its row.
- Choose Clone.
- Look at the top of the list. The copy appears there with "(clone)" added to its name.
- Open the copy, rename it and change whatever you want to test.
- Review and publish when ready.
Good reasons to clone
- Scale a winner. Copy a strong campaign to new locations or give it a larger budget without rebuilding it.
- Test audiences. Keep the creative identical and change only the audience, so the comparison is fair.
- Test creatives. Keep the audience and swap images, headlines or calls to action.
- Open new markets. Adjust location, language and copy for each region while keeping the same structure.
- Repeat seasonal offers. Reuse last year's holiday promotion with new dates and prices.
Tips for clean tests
- Change one thing per clone so you know what caused any difference.
- Rename clones clearly, for example "Spring promo - video version".
- Give each version enough time and budget before judging it.
- Compare the versions side by side in the Statistics tab.
A clone starts as an unpublished copy, so it will not spend money until you publish it.
Good to know: Pause or archive old clones once a test is finished to keep your campaign list easy to scan.
