Reusing Single Elements: Universal Elements and Element Templates

When you perfect a button, badge or menu, you can save just that element and use it elsewhere. Two save types exist, and they behave differently.

Which One to Pick

  • Universal Element: stays linked. Update it and publish, and every placed copy updates, across funnels, websites, blogs, webinars and stores. Best for buttons, logos, icons and menus.
  • Element Template: inserted as a copy. Later edits to one copy never touch the others. Best for starting points and one-off variants.
  • For a whole block of elements such as a header or footer, use a saved section instead.

Save an Element

  1. Open a page in the editor and select the element.
  2. Click the Save icon on its toolbar, or open the Layers panel, click the ... menu and choose the save option.
  3. Choose Universal Element or Element Template.
  4. Give it a clear, searchable name like "Button - Primary CTA".
  5. Confirm. Fonts, colors and spacing are stored with it.

Place and Edit

Open Add Elements > Saved Assets, choose Universal Elements or Element Templates, search or browse thumbnails, and drag onto the page. To edit a Universal Element, change a placed copy, save, and publish the affected pages so visitors see it.

Keep Your Library Tidy

  • Use consistent name prefixes (Button -, Icon -, Nav -).
  • Anyone with edit rights in your account can use saved assets, and folders are not available yet.
  • Deleting a saved item removes it from the library, so check which pages depend on it first.
  • If an edit goes wrong, restore an earlier page version from Version History and republish.
  • For a page-only variation, place a template or convert to a local copy before editing.

Good to know: Use Universal Elements sparingly, because one edit on a widely used button changes every page at once.
