Reviewing Service Performance and Booking Analytics

Once you're running more than a couple of services, it's worth knowing which ones are actually driving bookings and revenue — and which are quietly taking up space on your menu without getting picked.

What to look at

At a service level, the most useful numbers are booking volume (how often each service gets picked), completion rate (booked appointments that were actually kept versus canceled or no-showed), and revenue per service once add-ons and tiers are factored in. Comparing these across services tells you far more than looking at your calendar as a single lump total.

Finding this data

  1. Go to your reporting or analytics area and filter by calendar or by individual service, depending on what your setup offers.
  2. Compare booking counts and revenue across a consistent time window — week over week or month over month — rather than a single snapshot.
  3. Cross-reference cancellation and no-show rates by service; a service with a high cancellation rate may need a stricter cancellation policy or a longer required notice window.

Acting on what you find

A service with consistently low bookings might need better placement in your menu, a price adjustment, or removal altogether. A service with high demand but low staff availability is a signal to train or assign more staff to it, using staff skill-matching.

Good to know: Look at trends over time rather than reacting to any single week — appointment volume for most services naturally fluctuates with seasonality and day-of-week patterns.
