Connecting Jira to Vendi Today Workflows

The Jira integration connects customer communication to your issue tracker. Jira events can start workflows, and workflows can create or update Jira issues.

What you need

  • Access to Automation > Workflows.
  • An Atlassian account with access to the Jira Cloud site you want.
  • The email address tied to that account.
  • Permission to the Jira projects, issues and users you will use.

Connecting

  1. Open Automation > Workflows and add any Jira trigger or action.
  2. Click Connect your account if prompted.
  3. Enter a friendly Name, such as Support Jira, and your Atlassian email.
  4. Click Continue and approve access on the Atlassian screen.

Once connected, you can reuse the account in any workflow.

Triggers

  • New issue starts a workflow when an issue is created.
  • Updated issue starts one when an issue changes. Filter by condition, for example reaching Done, to notify a customer when their bug is fixed.

Actions

You can find users, projects and issues, create or update an issue, add a comment, watcher, attachment or work log, link two issues, and move an issue to a sprint. Selecting a Cloud Site is required for creating issues.

Building a workflow

  1. Create a workflow and pick a trigger.
  2. Connect Jira.
  3. Configure the step with project, issue and user details, using custom values where needed.
  4. Add an If/Else branch for cases where no matching issue is found.
  5. Test with a controlled example.
  6. Save and publish.

Matching issues to contacts

Store a shared reference, such as a ticket or request ID, so a Jira-triggered workflow can find the right contact.

Good to know: Check Execution Logs after the first live run to confirm what went in and out of each Jira step.
