Respond to Do-Not-Disturb Changes with the Contact DND Trigger
Do not disturb (DND) tells Vendi Today which channels must stay silent for a contact. The Contact DND trigger runs a workflow whenever that setting changes, so you can keep your records and campaigns in step with a person's wishes.
What fires it
The trigger fires when DND is switched on or off for a contact, whether the contact opted out, a teammate changed it, or a workflow did.
Filters
- DND Direction:
- Outbound: messages and calls you send. Use it for opt-outs.
- Inbound: calls and texts you receive from the contact, handy for blocking spam callers.
- DND Flag: choose from Enabled for all channels, Enabled for specific channels, Disabled for all channels or Disabled for specific channels.
- Channels: shown after you pick a specific-channels flag. Options are SMS, email, phone calls, Google Business messages and Facebook messages.
- Tag: restrict by tag with operators such as Any of and None of. Several tag filters combine with AND logic.
Set it up
- In Automation > Workflows, create a workflow and click Add New Trigger.
- Choose Contact DND and name it, for example "SMS opt-out".
- Add DND Direction, DND Flag and channels as needed.
- Click Save Trigger, add actions, and publish.
Example workflows
- Opt-out cleanup: when DND is enabled for SMS, add an "SMS opted out" tag, remove the contact from active text campaigns and update a consent field.
- Opted back in: when DND is disabled for email, tag the contact "Email OK" and send a welcome-back message.
- Spam control: when inbound DND is enabled for calls, mark the contact so it never becomes an opportunity.
Respect the choice: do not use a workflow to switch DND back off without the contact's permission.
Good to know: Pick a specific channel for the flag rather than "all" when you only want to react to one opt-out, such as texts.
