Capture Contacts Before a Survey Is Finished
Many people abandon long surveys. Create Contact on Partial Submission saves their details as soon as they pass the first slide, so you still have a lead.
Turn it on
- Go to Sites > Surveys and open a survey in the builder.
- Click Options.
- Switch on Create Contact on Partial Submission.
- Put name, email and phone on the very first slide.
- Save and preview.
When the respondent fills in slide one and clicks Next, a contact is created immediately, before the survey is complete.
Using it with logic
It works with slide jump rules, with a couple of limits:
- If logic jumps straight to the last slide, no partial contact is created, because the last slide counts as the final submission.
- If logic jumps to the second-to-last slide, the contact is not updated until the final submit.
Safest setup: keep the contact fields on slide one and avoid skipping the first slides.
Surveys with payments
Partial capture stays on when a payment element is used, so you keep the contact even if payment is not completed.
Follow up
Use a Workflow to tag partial contacts or send a gentle reminder to finish.
Good to know: Ask only for essentials on slide one; each extra field reduces the number of people who reach "Next".
