Publish Facebook Reels
Short vertical video is one of the strongest formats for reach, and you can schedule Facebook Reels from Social Planner just like any other post.
Before you start
- Connect your Facebook Page in Social Planner > Settings and grant every permission requested.
- Reels are published to Pages only. If you select a Group, the video is shared as a normal feed post instead.
Video requirements
- One video per Reel, up to 1 GB.
- MP4, MOV, or WebM.
- Length from 3 to 90 seconds.
- Vertical 9:16 ratio, ideally 1080 x 1920 pixels, with a minimum of 540 x 960.
- Custom thumbnails are not available for Facebook Reels.
Create a Reel
- Go to Marketing > Social Planner and click + New Post, then Create New Post.
- Choose your Facebook Page under Post to.
- Switch to the Reels tab in the composer.
- Add a caption and upload your single video.
- Choose Post now or Schedule post and set a date and time.
Posting limits
Facebook allows a limited number of Reels per Page per day (see the posting caps reference), so space them out when you plan a batch.
Troubleshooting
- If publishing fails, check duration and dimensions first.
- If the Page is not listed, reconnect it and confirm admin access.
- A rejected caption usually points to a community standards issue; reword it.
Good to know: Put the key message in the first two seconds, since many viewers decide to keep watching almost instantly.
