Using the Spacer Element
The Spacer element adds a controlled amount of empty room between blocks, so you can fine-tune the rhythm of an email without workarounds.
Why use it
- It replaces the old habit of using a divider or extra padding as filler.
- It adapts to mobile automatically.
- It adds nothing visible and has no effect on loading speed or delivery.
Adding a spacer
- Go to Marketing > Emails > Templates and open a template.
- Click Add Elements in the upper left and find Spacer.
- Drag it into position between two blocks.
- Click it and open the Edit tab.
- Set the height for vertical space, or the width for horizontal space, and choose a color if the gap should match a background.
- Open the Visibility tab to show the gap only on desktop or only on mobile, or to apply conditional rules.
- Preview both device views.
Removing a spacer
Select the spacer and click the trash icon.
Spacer or margin?
For simple vertical gaps between layout rows, the margin controls are usually the cleaner option. Spacers are handy when you need a gap inside a column, between two specific elements, or one that behaves differently on mobile.
Good to know: Large spacers can make an email feel empty on a small phone, so consider hiding or shrinking them for mobile.
