Add Authors to Your Blog

Authors must exist in the blog builder before you can assign them to a post. Setting up a profile once lets you reuse it across many articles and gives readers an author page.

Create an author

1. Go to Sites > Blog and click the gear-shaped Settings icon.
2. Open the Author tab on the left.
3. Click Add new author.
4. Enter the author's name, upload a photo, add image alt text, link social pages and write a short bio.
5. Click Create Author.

Limits and details

• Author photos can be up to 10 MB.
• There is no cap on how many authors you can create.
• Authors have their own page at /author/author-name (under your blog slug on a root domain), so a thorough bio is useful for credibility.

Assign an author to a post

On the final step of the post editor, pick the author from the Author list before you publish. If the person you want is missing, create the profile first and reopen the post.

Good to know: Decide on your authors, categories and slugs before publishing; they are part of the post's address and structure, so changing them later can affect links.
