Understand Auto-Scroll to First Error
When someone submits with a missing or invalid answer, Vendi Today jumps straight to the problem so they can fix it without hunting.
How it behaves
- On submit, the page scrolls to the first invalid field and highlights it.
- In multi-step surveys and quizzes, the visitor is taken to the slide that contains the first error.
- It works with all layouts: single column, two column and single line.
- Surveys show clear inline messages beside the field with guidance on what to correct.
- It works on both desktop and mobile.
It is on by default for new and existing forms, surveys and quizzes, so there is nothing to switch on.
Why it matters
Long forms on a phone make errors easy to miss. Taking the visitor straight to the field cuts failed attempts and drop-offs.
Help it work well
- Mark only truly necessary fields as Required.
- Use clear labels and placeholders such as "Mobile number, including area code".
- Add validation to email and phone fields so mistakes are caught early.
- Preview your form, submit it empty, and watch where the page lands.
This pairs well with email verification and address auto-complete, which reduce the number of errors in the first place.
Good to know: If you still see unexpected behavior, check that a custom HTML or CSS block is not hiding the invalid field.
