Send Purchase Confirmations
Beyond a basic receipt, you can control exactly what a customer sees and receives right after they buy from you — using either the built-in automatic receipt or a fully custom workflow.
Option 1: Automatic sales receipts
The simplest approach is turning on automatic sales receipts (see Manage Sales Receipts), which sends a PDF confirmation with an overview of the transaction and the items purchased as soon as payment succeeds.
Option 2: Custom automation
For more control over the message, design, or follow-up actions, build a workflow that triggers on Order Submitted:
- Create a new workflow and set the trigger to Order Submitted.
- Add an Send Email (or SMS) action.
- In the email builder, use the shopping cart element to automatically display exactly which products the customer bought and the total charged.
- Add any follow-up steps you want — a thank-you sequence, a request for a review, a link to another product, and so on.
The Order Submitted trigger also carries the order data, so you can use it to send information to other tools or systems if you need the purchase to kick off something outside of Vendi Today.
Which to use
Automatic receipts are the fastest way to confirm a purchase with no setup beyond a toggle. A custom workflow is worth building when you want branded messaging, upsell content, or additional automation tied to the purchase — the two approaches aren't mutually exclusive, and many businesses use both.
