Connecting Card Readers and Terminals

Accept chip, tap, and swipe payments with physical card readers — two hardware types depending on how you connect.

Bluetooth card readers

Compact readers pairing over Bluetooth — Stripe M2, BBPOS WisePad 3.

1. Go to Settings → Payment Devices.
2. Power on the reader (25%+ battery), pair it — firmware updates automatically.
3. At checkout, choose Pay with Hardware.
4. Customer taps, inserts, or swipes.

Wi-Fi payment terminals

Standalone terminals over local Wi-Fi — BBPOS WisePOS E, Stripe S700.

1. Go to Settings → Stripe Payment Hardware → Pair New Devices.
2. Enter the pairing code, name the terminal.
3. At checkout, select the terminal — customer completes payment there within a five-minute window.

Pair multiple devices to one location; all transactions show up together in reporting.

Troubleshooting

Usually a weak connection, low battery, or expired pairing code — re-pair to resolve.
