Schedule YouTube Videos and Shorts

Upload and schedule full-length videos or Shorts to your YouTube channel from Social Planner, together with a title, description, and privacy setting.

Connect your channel

  1. In Marketing > Social Planner > Settings, add a YouTube account through the Google sign-in.
  2. Choose the Google account that owns the channel. If you are unsure, check your YouTube settings page; your channel is listed there, or you will be offered Create a channel.

The connection no longer expires on a fixed date. It stays active until it is disconnected or revoked in Google.

Important: YouTube only lets the primary owner of a channel connect it to outside tools. People with Manager roles cannot. Ask the owner to connect it, and you can continue to create content afterwards.

Create a video or Short

  1. Click + New Post and choose Create New Post.
  2. Under Post to, select your YouTube channel.
  3. Choose Video or Shorts.
  4. Upload the file (up to 1 GB) and write the description with any hashtags.
  5. Enter a Title. For Shorts, the hashtag #shorts is added to the title automatically.
  6. Set privacy to Public, Private, or Unlisted.
  7. Optionally add a thumbnail (PNG or JPEG up to 2 MB; videos only, not Shorts) and a follow-up comment.
  8. Schedule or publish.

Shorts guidelines

Vertical 9:16 is recommended, and wider videos may be cropped.

Good to know: Schedule as Private first if you want to review the upload in YouTube before making it public.
