Capture Leads with a Form Inside a Video
You can pause a hosted video at a chosen moment and show a form. Viewers submit it to keep watching, which turns your best content into a lead magnet.
Set it up
- Add a Video element and choose Hosted Video.
- Turn on Generate leads from video.
- Enter the time when the form should appear, in hours, minutes or seconds.
- Choose the form to display. Create it first under Sites > Forms if needed.
- Decide whether to allow Allow user to close the form and continue.
- Save and preview.
Behavior
- With the close option off, the viewer must submit the form to continue.
- With it on, viewers can dismiss the form and keep watching.
- After a viewer submits a form for a video, the lock does not reappear for two weeks.
- Submissions become Contacts, so Workflows can follow up.
Limits
- Only hosted videos work, because they support time tracking.
- It cannot be used when the video sits inside a pop-up.
Tips
- Place the lock at a high-interest moment, such as just before a reveal.
- Keep the form short: name and email are usually enough.
- Write a clear promise in the video so viewers want to continue.
Good to know: Test with a different browser or private window, since returning viewers who already submitted will not see the form.
