Offer Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL)
Let customers split a purchase into installments through a Buy Now, Pay Later provider — Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay/Clearpay — instead of paying the full amount upfront. This can help reduce cart abandonment on higher-priced items.
Requirements
- Stripe must be your connected payment provider — BNPL isn't available through other processors.
- BNPL only applies to one-time purchases. It isn't available for recurring/subscription products.
- Works on both single-step and two-step order forms, and on payment links.
How it works
Once Stripe is connected with BNPL enabled, eligible customers see Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay as a payment option at checkout alongside your other methods. Which specific option appears can depend on the customer's location and purchase amount — the provider decides eligibility, not you.
Tracking
Orders paid through BNPL show up in your Payments section right alongside standard card transactions — there's no separate reporting to check. Automation triggers like Order Submitted and Payment Received fire normally, so any workflows you've built around a purchase still work the same way.
