Edit Your Courses with the Course Editor

Once your course is live, you'll come back to update lessons, fix a typo, or reorganize modules as your content evolves. The course editor is built to make those edits quick without losing sight of your overall course structure.

Opening the editor

  1. Go to Memberships > Courses.
  2. Select the course you want to update.
  3. Open it in the editor.

Getting oriented

The editor splits into two main areas. On the left, a course map lists every module and lesson like a table of contents — this stays visible the whole time you're working, so you always know where you are and what's nearby. On the right, the main editing area shows whatever module, lesson, quiz, or assignment you've selected. Breadcrumbs at the top confirm exactly where you are in the structure.

Because the map takes up most of the screen alongside your active edit, you can jump between lessons without backing out to a course overview page every time — a small thing that adds up when you're doing a lot of edits in one sitting.

Making changes

  • Reorder content by dragging items up or down within the course map — no need to open each lesson individually to move it.
  • Collapse or expand modules to focus on the section you're editing, or expand everything when you want the full picture.
  • Check status at a glance — the map shows whether each item is published, still a draft, or locked behind a prerequisite.
  • Use quick actions right from the map to edit, delete, or change the visibility of an item without opening it first.

A good habit

After making changes, click through as a student would to confirm everything still flows the way you intended — especially after reordering modules, since a lesson that references "the previous section" can get confusing if you've since moved things around.
