Setting Minimum Stay and Turnaround Buffers

Two rules do most of the work of keeping a rental calendar realistic: a minimum stay length so a unit isn't tied up by a booking too short to be worth the turnaround, and a buffer between bookings so you actually have time to clean, reset, or inspect the unit before the next guest.

Minimum stay

A minimum stay stops customers from booking, say, a single night on a property that only makes financial sense at a two-night minimum, or an hour on a room that needs at least a half-day booking to be worthwhile.

  1. Open the listing's booking rules.
  2. Set the minimum stay length in the same unit as your pricing model (nights, hours, or days).
  3. Optionally set a maximum stay if you don't want a unit tied up indefinitely by one long booking.

Turnaround buffers

A buffer blocks a fixed amount of time immediately after a booking ends, before the unit becomes available again — automatically, without you needing to remember to block it manually every time.

  1. In the same booking rules area, find buffer time or turnaround time.
  2. Set how much time you need between bookings — this varies a lot by rental type: a meeting room might need 15 minutes, a vacation property might need a full day.
  3. Save and confirm the buffer is reflected on the live booking page by checking that a slot immediately after an existing booking is correctly shown as unavailable.

Good to know: The system enforces buffer time automatically even when a booking is created manually by staff, so you don't need to remember to leave a gap yourself when entering a reservation by hand.
