Number Hosting

Number hosting lets you keep using an existing phone number for voice calls with your current carrier while routing its text messaging (SMS/MMS) through Vendi Today. It's a lighter-weight alternative to porting when you just need texting capability on a number you're not ready to fully move over.

When to use it instead of porting or buying

• You want to keep the number with its current carrier for voice, but need SMS/MMS support that carrier doesn't offer.
• You're not ready to commit to a full port, which changes the number's carrier entirely.
• You want to avoid the cost and hassle of buying a brand-new number just to unlock texting.

What qualifies

• Eligible: US/Canada landline numbers, toll-free numbers, and any number that doesn't already have SMS service elsewhere.
• Not eligible: mobile numbers, numbers already set up for voice calling through a separately connected outside provider account, and international numbers.

How it works

1. Submit the number for hosting and verify you own it.
2. Sign a Letter of Authorization confirming you're authorizing messaging to be routed through Vendi Today.
3. Your current carrier confirms the request.

Approval typically takes 3–10 business days. Once complete, voice calls continue exactly as before through your original carrier, while texts sent to and from that number flow through Vendi Today's messaging system.
