Prepare a Bulk Upload File: Basic Format

Bulk upload lets you schedule dozens of posts at once from a spreadsheet. Social Planner accepts .csv and .xlsx files and offers two layouts: Basic and Advanced. This article covers the Basic columns, which also apply to the Advanced layout. The exact header text matters, so download the sample file on the upload screen and keep its first row unchanged.

Basic columns

  • postAtSpecificTime: The date and time to publish, in 24-hour format, for example 2026-08-25 21:30. Several date styles are accepted, such as YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm or M/D/YYYY H:mm. Leave it empty and the post becomes a draft.
  • content: The caption and hashtags. Respect the character limit of each network you target.
  • link (OGmetaUrl): A URL used for the link preview card. If images, a GIF, or a video are also filled in, the link is added to the caption as plain text instead.
  • imageUrls: Up to 10 image addresses, separated by commas, in PNG or JPG.
  • gifUrl: One GIF address. Leave all other media columns empty on that row.
  • videoUrls: Up to 10 video addresses, comma-separated, though many networks only take one.
  • thumbnailUrl: An optional custom cover, applied to the first video only.

Rules to follow

  • Schedule every post at least 10 minutes after the moment you upload the file.
  • Media must be reachable by a public link. Files stored in the Media Library are the safest choice.
  • Each row is one post.
  • Do not rename or reorder the header cells.

Next steps

For platform-specific options, use the Advanced layout described in the companion article, then follow the upload article to import the file.

Good to know: Test with a two-row file first to confirm your dates and links are read correctly.
