Act on New Ratings with the Product Review Submitted Trigger

When a shopper leaves a review in your Vendi Today store, the Product Review Submitted trigger can start a workflow straight away. Thank happy customers, rescue unhappy ones and capture praise you can reuse.

What fires it

The trigger runs the moment someone submits a review for a store product. The workflow can use the rating, headline, comment, reviewer name and email, store and product details in later steps. You will find it under the Ecommerce Stores group in the trigger list.

Available filters

  • Global Product: watch a single catalog item.
  • Review Rating (star): limit to chosen star values from 1 to 5, using the available operators.
  • Review Comment: Contains Phrase for terms such as "shipping" or "size", or Is Not Empty for reviews with written text.
  • Review Headline: Contains a phrase or Is Not Empty.
  • Store Name: separate automations per storefront.
  • User Email and User Name: target specific reviewers.

Choose Require All to demand every filter or Require Any to accept one. With no filters, every review enrolls.

Set it up

  1. In Automation > Workflows, create a workflow and click Add New Trigger.
  2. Choose Product Review Submitted from Ecommerce Stores.
  3. Give it a clear name such as "Low-star review rescue".
  4. Click Add filters and choose the conditions.
  5. Save, add actions, and publish.

Example workflows

  • 1 to 2 stars: notify the support inbox, create a task and send an apology offering help.
  • 5 stars: thank the buyer, ask permission to feature the review, and add a "Promoter" tag.
  • Comment mentions "refund": route to the billing team.

Good to know: Use two separate triggers, one for low and one for high ratings, so each path can have its own tone and team.
