Why Your Domain Does Not Show the Edit Button

If you cannot find the Edit button for a domain's default page, the cause is usually where you are looking, not a bug.

Why it happens

The edit control appears in one place only: the funnel or website where you first added the domain. A domain's default page can have only one value at a time, so other sites that use the same domain will not show the control.

What to do

  1. Go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain and review its Connected Products.
  3. Open the site where the domain was first connected. Change the default page there.
  4. To use a different page, change it from that original location, or remove the domain from the old place and add it to the new one.

Also check

  • You are signed in to the right business account.
  • Your user role allows access to Sites and domain settings.
  • The domain finished verification.

Good to know: Keep notes on which site owns each domain's default page to avoid confusion later.
