Moving & Porting Phone Numbers
If you already have a phone number — with your cell carrier, a landline provider, or another platform — you can usually bring it into Vendi Today instead of buying a new one. There are two different processes depending on where the number is coming from.
Porting a number from another carrier
Porting moves a number from an outside carrier (cell phone, landline, another business phone provider) so it becomes a number inside Vendi Today. It typically takes two to four weeks for a small batch of numbers, with no service interruption during the process.
What you'll need:
- A recent bill from your current carrier (less than 90 days old)
- Your account number with that carrier
- A PIN or the last four digits of the account holder's SSN, if your carrier requires one for wireless numbers
- The authorized representative's name and email
- The service address exactly as it appears on the carrier account
To submit a port-in request:
- Go to Settings > Phone System > Phone Numbers > Add Number > Port-In Numbers.
- Complete the agreement checklist.
- Enter your carrier account details and the number(s) to port.
- Enter the authorized representative's contact info and service address.
- Upload your recent billing statement (PDF or image, up to 10 MB).
A Letter of Authorization is generated automatically and emailed to the authorized representative to sign — you don't need to prepare this yourself. Once submitted, you'll get a request ID and can track its status from Phone Numbers > Port-In Numbers.
Only account admins can submit port-in requests.
Moving a number you already have in another account
If the number is already active on a Vendi Today-powered account (yours or one you're transferring from), it can be moved directly rather than ported. To request this:
- Find the destination account's Location ID under Settings > Business Profile.
- Open a support request with the number(s) to move, the destination Location ID, and your preferred cutover window.
Support coordinates the move end-to-end, usually within one to two business days. Multiple numbers can be moved in the same request. Note that call recordings tied to the number's history don't carry over — only the number itself and future activity move with it.
