Email Delivery Methods: Send Now, Schedule, Batch and RSS

When you click Send or Schedule on a campaign, you choose how the email will reach its audience. Each method suits a different goal.

The four methods

Send Now delivers immediately. Use it for flash sales, urgent announcements or last-minute updates.

Schedule sends the whole campaign at one chosen date and time, based on your account's time zone. It is ideal for event reminders, seasonal promotions and planned newsletters.

Batch Schedule splits a large audience into groups released over time. You set the batch size, the gap between batches and the allowed days and hours. For example, 1,000 contacts with a batch size of 100 go out in 10 rounds. Use it for big lists and to keep traffic to your Sites steady.

RSS Schedule builds an email from a blog or content feed and sends it on a recurring schedule. If the feed has nothing new, nothing is sent.

Managing a campaign afterwards

  • Reschedule a scheduled, batch or RSS campaign up to an hour before it starts.
  • Update Email Content to change the copy while a batch or RSS campaign is running.
  • Pause or Cancel before delivery.
  • Preview and Test Email are always available in the editor.

Smart Send, which recommends a time for you, appears as an extra option when your account qualifies.

Good to know: Schedule sends the full list at once, while Batch Schedule paces it. If in doubt with a large audience, choose batch.
