Ring Your Team First with the Call Action
The Call action rings a team member, tells them who is on the other end, and only then dials the contact and connects both of them.
How the call flows
- The contact reaches the Call step.
- Vendi Today calls the assigned user. If the contact is unassigned, it calls the Company Phone from your business profile.
- When that person answers, a whisper message plays, up to three times.
- If keypress is required, they press a key to continue.
- Vendi Today dials the contact. If the contact answers, both parties are connected.
Settings
- Action Name: required.
- Call Whisper: text read aloud to the team member, with merge fields such as the contact's name. Usage charges apply for the spoken message.
- Call Timeout (s): how long to try before giving up. Required.
- Disable Voicemail Detect: skips the check that tells a person from a voicemail box. This connects faster, but voicemail may be treated as a live answer. Good with short timeouts.
- Connect Call After Keypress: confirms a real person answered before the contact is dialed.
Set it up
- Add a trigger, such as Appointment Confirmed or Form Submitted.
- Click + and choose Call.
- Write a whisper like "New lead from contact name. Press any key to connect."
- Set the timeout and turn on the keypress option.
- Save and publish.
Workflow behavior
If your team member does not answer, the workflow moves on. See the article on combining Stop on Response with voicemail detection for how those settings interact.
Good to know: Turn on keypress so the contact is never dialed when a voicemail picks up for your team member.
