Writing with the Rich Text Element

The Rich Text element is a word-processor-style text box. In one element you can mix headings, quotes, highlights, code snippets and nested lists, with no HTML needed.

Add It

  1. Open the page in the editor.
  2. In the left panel choose Quick Add > Rich Text.
  3. Drag it into a row or column and click once to type.

A standard Paragraph element cannot be converted into Rich Text, so add a new one if you need these features.

Formatting Options

  • Headings: select text, open the Paragraph dropdown in the floating toolbar and choose H1 to H6.
  • Block quote: type > and press Space at the start of a line.
  • Inline code: wrap text in single backticks.
  • Code block: type three backticks and press Enter.
  • Highlight: select text and pick a background color from the toolbar.
  • Lists: type * then Space, or use the toolbar. Choose bullet, circle or square markers for unordered lists, and numbers, letters or Roman numerals for ordered ones. Press Tab to indent a sub-level and Shift + Tab to move back out.

Sidebar Styling

The sidebar matches the Paragraph element: typography, spacing per device, shadows, entrance animation, visibility per device, and a custom CSS class. Your global fonts and colors apply automatically. The List Item Spacing slider next to Line Height controls the gap between list items without changing line height inside each item. It also works for Bullet List elements.

Shortcut Summary

Switch between paragraph and heading with Ctrl + Alt + 1 to 6 (Option + Command on Mac).

Good to know: Use Line Height for spacing inside a list item and List Item Spacing for the gaps between items.
