Customize the Survey Footer and Progress Bar

The footer holds the Previous, Next and Submit buttons plus progress. Styling it makes surveys feel like part of your brand.

Footer settings

Open the survey, click Styles & Options, then expand Footer:

  • Footer Behavior: Stick to card (moves with each slide) or Stick to page (always visible).
  • Background Fill and Footer Height.
  • Typography: family, size and weight.
  • Button Type, Position, Text and Colors. Rename Previous, Next and Submit.
  • Progress Bar: turn on a visual indicator of how far along someone is.

New surveys use the enhanced footer by default. Older surveys keep their original footer until you switch the new footer on in Styles.

Mobile progress bar

On phones, multi-step surveys and quizzes can show a progress bar. It stays hidden on desktop and on single-step forms.

  1. Open the survey or quiz and click Styles & Options.
  2. Expand Footer.
  3. Use the device selector beside Footer to choose Phone; the option cannot be enabled in desktop view.
  4. Toggle Enable Progress Bar on.
  5. Set Step Text Color, Progress Bar Fill and Progress Bar Inactive colors.
  6. Click Save and preview on a phone.

It works with both footer behaviors.

Good to know: Pick a fill color with strong contrast against the inactive color so progress is obvious in bright light.
