Create a Fixed Countdown Timer
A fixed timer counts down to one specific date and time, and every viewer sees the same deadline. It is the right choice for a sale that ends on a known day, a launch date, or a registration cutoff.
Before You Begin
Decide three things: the exact end moment, which time zone it should be measured in, and where people should land while the offer is live and after it expires.
Build the Timer
- Open Marketing, then Countdown Timers.
- Click + New and select a design. Choose Continue with this template.
- Under the General tab, set Timer Type to Fixed.
- Enter the End Date and time.
- Choose the Time Zone for that deadline. If you want each contact to see the deadline in their own local time, tick Adapt to Contact Time Zone.
- Fill in the Active Link and Expired Link.
- Open Styling and adjust the look. The color options cover the counter, labels, separators, and background. The color picker offers your Brand Board colors, your saved custom colors, and standard swatches. Anything you add here is saved for reuse across all your timers.
- Click the title area at the top to rename the timer.
- Click Save.
Where It Fits Best
- Product launches: build anticipation on a landing page and in announcement emails.
- Event registration: show how long people have left to sign up.
- Limited sales: pair the clock with a prominent offer button.
- Sign-up campaigns: highlight the last day to join.
Good to know: Because one fixed timer can be placed in many emails and pages, changing its end date later updates every placement at once, so you rarely need to rebuild it.
