Branch Survey Paths With Conditional Logic and Jump To

Logic lets one survey act like several, depending on answers.

Before you begin

This version works on newly created or cloned surveys. Rules are not carried over when you duplicate or share a survey elsewhere, so rebuild them in the copy.

Actions

  • Show/Hide Fields (including text, image, HTML and terms elements).
  • Display Custom Message
  • Redirect to URL
  • Disqualify Lead
  • Jump To a slide or question, evaluated when the respondent clicks Next.

Build a rule

  1. Open the survey and click Conditional Logic.
  2. Click Add New Condition.
  3. Choose a field or slide, a state, and a value. Use Between for number, score, money and date ranges.
  4. Join several conditions with AND or OR (one type per rule).
  5. Choose the action and target slide, then Save.
  6. Test every path in Preview.

Creating multiple outcomes

Make one rule per route, for example "Budget is under 500" jumps to a lite-offer slide, while "Budget is 500 or more" jumps to a booking slide.

Rule behavior

  • Rules run top to bottom. For Jump To, the first match wins.
  • Self-loops and loops between slides are blocked automatically.
  • Use the Filter control to list rules by field or slide.

Best practices

Keep rules few and clear, name slides sensibly, and avoid skipping slides that collect required contact details.

Good to know: Jump rules also affect analytics drop-off, so skipped slides can show negative values.
