Calendar Limits and What Happens When You Delete One
Two of the most common questions once you're managing several calendars: how many can you actually create, and what happens to everything already booked if you remove one.
Is there a limit to how many calendars I can create?
No practical limit is imposed on the number of calendars you can set up. Businesses commonly run several calendars side by side — one per location, one per service type, one per staff member's specialty — without running into a cap. The more relevant limit in practice is how many calendars you and your team can keep organized and up to date, not any hard system restriction.
What happens to bookings if I delete a calendar?
Deleting a calendar does not automatically cancel or erase appointments that were already booked on it — existing appointment records generally remain accessible in your appointments list and on the related contact records, since they're tied to the booking event, not solely to the calendar's existence.
What does disappear is the calendar's booking page itself — any link or embedded widget pointed at a deleted calendar will stop working, so customers can no longer book new appointments through it. Before deleting a calendar with any upcoming or recurring use, make sure:
- Any upcoming appointments still on it have been rescheduled, canceled, or moved to a replacement calendar.
- Any embedded widgets or shared links pointing to it have been updated or removed so customers don't hit a broken booking page.
- You've exported or noted any calendar-specific settings you'd want to reuse (working hours, staff assignments, buffers) if you're recreating a similar calendar afterward.
Good to know: If you're not sure you want a calendar gone permanently, consider archiving or deactivating it instead of deleting, where that option is available — it removes it from active booking without losing the configuration.
