Rename Standard Objects in Your CRM
The words "Contacts," "Opportunities," and "Companies" might not match the language your business or industry actually uses. If you'd rather your team see "Clients," "Deals," or "Organizations," you can rename these standard objects to fit how you talk about your work.
How to rename an object
- Go to Settings → Objects.
- Find the object you want to rename (Contacts, Opportunities, or Companies).
- Click the three-dot menu and select Edit.
- Update the Singular Name and Plural Name.
- Save your changes.
The new names show up everywhere — navigation menus, filters, reports, and dashboards.
Example renames
- Contacts → Client / Clients
- Opportunities → Deal / Deals
- Companies → Organization / Organizations
Rules and limits
- Names can be up to 50 characters each.
- No two objects can share the same singular or plural name.
- Only account admins can make this change.
What doesn't change
Renaming is purely cosmetic — internal object keys stay the same behind the scenes, so your existing workflows, integrations, and automations keep working exactly as before.
