Copy, Rename and Delete Triggers on the Workflow Canvas

Building similar workflows often means setting up nearly identical triggers over and over. Instead of starting from scratch, you can duplicate a trigger with all of its filters and then change only what differs.

Copy a trigger

  1. Open the workflow in Automation > Workflows.
  2. Find the trigger card on the canvas and click its three-dot menu.
  3. Choose Copy.
  4. A new card appears named Copy of [original name]. Open it and adjust the filters.
  5. Rename it in the name field so it describes the new purpose.
  6. Click Save Trigger.

The duplicate carries every filter and setting of the original. You can copy the same trigger as many times as you need, for example one copy per pipeline, region or product line.

Delete a trigger

  1. Click the three-dot menu on the trigger card.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm the prompt.

The trigger disappears from that workflow immediately. Contacts who already enrolled through it keep running, and the history of earlier enrollments is untouched. Only future enrollments from that trigger stop.

Things to keep in mind

  • Deletion cannot be undone. If you are unsure, change the filters so the trigger never matches, then remove it later.
  • A workflow needs at least one trigger to start anything, so adding a replacement before deleting the old one avoids a gap.
  • Copying works on any trigger type and in any workflow.
  • In the advanced canvas, copied triggers still need a start action connected before you can save.

Good uses for copies

  • Run the same follow-up for several form variations with one filter changed per trigger.
  • Test a stricter version of a filter without touching the live one.
  • Clean up testing triggers quickly before publishing.

Good to know: Duplicate first and edit second; it is much faster than re-picking filters and avoids small typos.
