Branch on Appointment Details with If/Else
When a workflow starts from a Calendars event, the If/Else action gains an Appointment condition. It lets you split the path based on whether a booking was rescheduled, when it starts, or when it ends.
When it appears
The Appointment option is available only if the workflow uses an appointment-related trigger, such as Customer Booked Appointment or Appointment Status.
The three filters
- Rescheduled: true or false, depending on whether this particular execution came from a reschedule.
- Start Date: compare the appointment's start against a date or a relative offset.
- End Date: compare the appointment's end the same way.
Configure the branch
- Open the workflow and add an appointment trigger.
- Click + and select If/Else.
- Rename the action as a question, for example "Did the customer reschedule?"
- For Scenario Recipe, choose Build Your Own.
- Rename each branch so it reads clearly, such as "Rescheduled" and "Not Rescheduled."
- In the first branch, choose Appointment, then pick a filter and its operator and value.
- Click + Add Branch to add more outcomes, such as "Upcoming" and "Past."
- Add the actions you want beneath each branch and save.
Ideas
- Send a different SMS when someone rescheduled versus booked fresh.
- Hold back a promo for appointments that start more than two weeks out.
- Follow up only with appointments that ended several days ago.
Good to know: Question-style names like "Is the appointment after two weeks?" make a busy canvas much easier to read.
